Letters to the Editor
Letters
February 11, 2002
We get the occasional letter to the editors here at BRR. Some of them are, well, interesting.
We need more letters like this one:
From: Melanie L. Daglian (at tbwe)
Wow -- This site is incredible. You guys should win a Pulitzer. I bought stuff. I read. I feel edgier, more millennial. I feel cleansed. I laughed, I cried.
Unfortunately, we mostly get letters like this:
From: Scott Sechrist (at odu.edu)
comments: YO! What happened to the Road to Springfield??? I went there every day until they got down to the Final Four - and then NOTHING! The site appears to be down - do you have any ideas as to what happened? Were they sued by the Simpsons? Did so many people go there their server crashed? - Scott
Due to the nature of the Internet, we don't control all the servers that we link to...yet.
Feel free to vent your frustrations to us at BRR. We care.
From: David Newhouse (at cableone.net)
comments: Sorry, but I got this love/hate thing with the internet "apparently". My name is Sean Newhouse. Here's several things on the internet that happens all too frequently...Hmmm.. none of these things ever happen to us, but maybe that's because we're not complete morons.

. When you're composing a message & you accidentally hit one of the keys on your keyboard & everything you just wrote (sometimes SEVERAL pages) gets wiped out!........
. Why is it that whenever I want to join in a discussion and so I enter my login name & password (I didn't realize I had ONE official name & password for every chat site out there) every single one says I entered the wrong name and password - UH, says WHO!!!!
. Of course, having to go off & watch some t.v. until I finally manage to get to the website I wanted, or , waiting just as long just to have a message sent...
. Why is it that so many fan-based websites either take forever to get to, or "Sorry, Error" type B.S., when at other times you have no problem with it.
. Why any of the above & much more happens at all- of course the internet is kind of a perplexity all its own.
. Ever since I used my sisters computer, my e-mail inbox has adapted her e-mail name as my own, no matter which computer I'm using... ??????????????? INTERESTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ahh, those wacky Seattleians. Or maybe he's just confused, but thoughtful enough to write back a second time.
From: Sean Newhouse (at imatrekkie.com)
comments: Yes, I am more than fed-up with our Metro transit system over here in the Seattle area- the drivers are almost always moody and cantakerous, imaptient, etc. and I've seen them drive off leaving someone behind EVEN THOUGH the person will be STANDING RIGHT THERE TO GET ON THE BUS!!! Or, the bus don't arrive at all!! There was a great article about this written by a lady who writes for the 'Seattle Weekly', but ask Metro if they care!Unfortunately, our ability to control the Seattle mass transit systme is extremely limited at this time, though it is in the long-terms plans, or maybe I've said too much already...
